We have owned several large breed dogs throughout our lifetimes, such as Rottweilers, Dobermans, Filas, and Berners, but in our opinion, none compares to the Boerboel.  They are beautiful, intelligent, powerful, athletic, courageous, loyal, playful, friendly, protective, and good with children.  Boerboels have a very strong bond with the family, always wanting to be with you, and following you everywhere.  They also have strong guardian instincts, and therefore should be handled by an experienced dog owner.  If you are looking for a true family companion who will protect you should the need ever arise, then the Boerboel may be the right dog breed for you.
